About Me

Names that I am known by:

Nish Chandradas

Nishi Chandradas

Nishanth Chandradas

However I prefer to be called Nish and after about 6 years of being active on the internet I have decided to take blogging seriously. I have blogged before but I’ve always tended to get bored after a few months or become occupied with more important work. Let me just quickly introduce myself before I tell you why I’m not your Average Entrepreneur.

At the time of writing this I am 17 years old (18 in 1 month). I have been trying to earn a living online ever since I first got on the internet which was round about when I was 11. I first got the interest of earning money on the internet after I participated on many gaming forums. Having loved participating in a forum and seeing how active they could get, I tried to create my own forum, being around 11 years old I didn’t have a clue where to start so I googled something along the lines of “create forum”. I know the results have changed but back then it took me to the PHPBB website, which is of course the most popular php opensource forum software. I didn’t have a clue about PHP let alone web hosting and other concepts and technologies.

Having visited the PHPBB website I downloaded the zip file thinking this is all I would need to create a forum. I opened the zip file to be baffled by 100s of files that couldn’t be executed by windows. This is the first time I recall encountering PHP. At this point I gave up trying to “run” the script as of course it’s impossible without a PHP server. I later found a website that allowed instant forums to be created. On that day my first website was created. I know its kind of embarrassing to look back but I think its important to see how far I have come. The following years I slowly evolved and became more and more experienced. These days I am creating small scale web applications and using social media to promote businesses.

Now this is why I’m different from your average entrepreneur.

I’m a Sri Lankan Tamil.

Yes statistics show that most entrepreneurs today are most likely to be middle aged Americans. Being a Sri Lankan, unfortunately we are normally pressured into becoming doctors and laywers.

I don’t do things to make money.

Weirdly enough I don’t actually create websites and think of ideas that can make me money. However I try to create a good and useful service that would help people. Doing this however makes me money.

I don’t claim to be a guru at anything.

I understand that no one is a true guru as with the internet its constantly evolving so the learning curve is almost a 90% angle, however I do understand that some people are better at some things than others.

I’m an Innovator.

I will rarely work on a project unless its something that has never been doing before. Most entrepreneurs just do what has already been done.

I make money.

Yep the sad truth is most people trying to make a living online, are finding it difficult to even make $5 let alone feed a family.

Well that’s all for now. I hope that gives you an idea of who I am.

Thanks
